This 5 ECTS course is part of the Joint Nordic Master in Marine Ecology and Climate (Mareclim) jointly offered by the universities in Bergen, Århus, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. The Mareclime-program is described here.
This system has been named BarentsWatch, but plans to eventually cover a much more comprehensive to become a central hub for monitoring and information for seas and coastal areas from Denmark in the south, to Greenland in the west, the North Pole in the north and Novaja Semlja in the east.
This was a Nordforsk-funded course, jointly developed by the three Nordic Centres of Excellence that started within that programme in 2011.
