Dr. Brander is an emeritus Scientist at the Center for Ocean Life, Technical University of Denmark. He was lead author on climate impacts on fisheries and marine ecosystems for the 4th IPCC report, sharing in the award of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. He works on ecosystem approaches for marine management and he has advised national governments the EU and FAO on fisheries management.
